Tschumi Massing Concept Study

RESEARCH BRIEF

Review the concepts of disjunction that Tschumi presents in his writing, namely:
I: Technologies of Defamiliarization,
II: The Mediated “Metropolitan” Shock,
III: De-structuring,
IV: Superimposition,
V: Cross Programming, and
VI: Events.
Present at least three additional options for massing studies for the site that draws on concepts of disjunction. Consider how processes of dispersion, consolidation, addition and subtraction can be engaged to produced form. You may bring in conditions and investigations of previous exercises. A proposal may hold conflicting and contradictory viewpoints.

Concept-Superimposition

I was quite fascinated by the idea of superimposition presented in Six Concept by Bernard Tschumi, where '...structure (or frame), form (or space), event (or function), body (or movement), and fiction (or narrative) was systematically blurred through superimposition, collision, distortion, fragmentation, and so forth'. Therefore, I decided to be bold and play with forms & shapes.

From my perspective, things & matters, in reality, can be abbreviated into simple geometric shapes, polygons in particular. I cited this sentence from a book called, Modern Housing: Architecture: 'Every age of architecture is the direct expression of a social pattern'. The geometric expression is the realization of the randomness of life and the diverse community culture. I juxtaposition the elements, create tension & collision, overlay and create layers out of them.

This is just a bold, experimental study of form and shape in the scale of urban planning. I haven't considered the relationship with the surroundings, but a pure form of abstract art expression. It's less conservative and assigned the typology when I am satisfied with the form outcome.
